👋 Who I Am
Hi, I’m Timothy Kong (TK)—a senior field service engineer, coach, and immigrant success advocate.
I help Asian immigrant professionals in biotech, healthcare, and engineering rise from technical roles to executive leadership without compromising who they are.
With over 12 years in the biotech industry, I’ve traveled across 400 cities in North America supporting top scientists and labs. Along the way, I met countless brilliant immigrants who—despite their expertise—remained invisible in the leadership pipeline. I was one of them.
🌏 My Story: Between Two Worlds
I was born in South Korea and immigrated to Canada at age 30, armed with a strong work ethic and a belief that skill speaks louder than words.
But soon, I realized something unsettling:
Hard work alone wasn’t enough.
While I quietly delivered results, others with louder voices and better cultural fluency got the promotions.
People told me to “be more visible” or “own the room”—advice that clashed with my upbringing in humility, respect for hierarchy, and group harmony.
That disconnect nearly broke me—until I learned how to translate my cultural strengths into leadership assets.
