Heading to Maui from Los Angeles airport and we’re all excited. We’ve been only in Ohau, just one night, and Kona islands, but not in Maui. I bet it’s relatively a smaller island and not as busy as other bigger size islands. We’re planning to stay at an one of Hilton Grand Vacation Clubs, Hilton Grand Vacations Club Maui Bay Villas. Landing at OGG airport around 7:30pm, 3 hrs behind, which is 10:30pm in our hometown town, which means that we’re going to be a bit hungry. It’s always challenging to find a reasonable place to eat especially when it’s first time visit and night time especially. Of course, McDonald is everywhere but like to try something local. Well, we failed. Ended up eating at Panda Express.
엘에이 공항에서 마우이 섬으로 가자!! 이전에 호놀루루가 있는 오하우에서는 딱 하룻밤, 그리고 큰섬이라고 불리는 코나섬에서 몇일을 있어 보았으나 마우이 섬은 이번이 처음이다. 아마 다른 섬보다는 좀 작을것이고 그리고 분주하지 않을 거라 예상. 우리 가족은 마우이 베이 빌라 힐튼 베케이션 클럽에서 머물 예정이다. 마우이의 OGG공항에 저녁 7시30분 도착. 우리가 살고있는 캘리포니아보다 세시간이 느리니 우리의 뱃속은 현재 저녁 10시30분, 무지하게 배가 고픈 상황이다. 어떤 새로운 곳에 도착해서 바로 괜찮은 식당을 찾는다는 것은 출장이 일은 나로서도 꽤 노력을 들여야 한다, 특히 그것이 밤 늦었을때는. 물론 맥도날드는 어디에도 있지만 말이다. 이날도 역시 포기하고 판다 익스프레스라는 중국식 프렌차이즈로. 일단 배는 채워야 하겠기에.
It’s wow experience when we check in the hotel since it’s a brand new facility. They built only one building to open the club and still working on many other buildings, but their full size pool is open. It gives us lots of space to play around without many traffic in the pool.
어제 저녁에 체크인을 할때는 몰랐지만 아침에 일어나니 와우였다. 이 클럽은 딸랑 하나의 객식건물만 짓고 문을 연것이다. 계속해서 다른 많은 건물들은 공사중이다. 하지만 다른 시설은 다 열었는데 특히 풀장은 완전히 열었다. 즉슨, 몇명 안되는 사람들이 큰 풀장을 다 쓸수 있다는 것이다. 애들은 뛰어놀고 난리다. 역시 조용한 곳은 참 마음에 든다.

The beach was across the hotel, and are able to see some turtles baking on the beach. The lagoon area, hand built, was used to store or capture their food for Hawaiian, especially royal family. Now it’s used for the little kids to play inside because the wave is always calm and they can see turtle swim around in the lagoon.
바다는 호텔에서 길 하나만 건너면 된다. 하와이의 특징인 거북이가 해변에서 일광욕(?)을 즐기고 있는것을 볼수있다. 우리나라에서 간간히 보이는 돌을 둥글게 쌓아놓은, 라군이라 부름, 곳은 예날 하와이 원주민들이 바다에서 나는 음식을 저장하고 잡는 곳이었다. 특히 왕족들을 위해. 지금은 파도가 아주 잔잔해 아이들이 놀기에 딱인 곳이다. 가끔은 거북이랑 같이 수영도 하면서.

Of course, the main theme of our first vacation spot is food and play. We’ve looked up many different must stop-by restaurants and did a few of them. All was delicious. Also, playing at the pool and the beach can’t be disappointed at all.
물론, 첫번째 행선지에서의 우리의 주 목적은 음식과 놀자이다. 아주 많은 강추하는 곳을 찾았고 그중에 몇군데를 다녔다. 다 맛있었고 수영장에서와 해변에서 놀기는 역시 실망하는 일이 없다.
Maui Brewing Co, Beer was not as impressive as we expected but the food was great. Also, the mood was great as well including the live music.
마우이 주류공장. 맥주는 그렇게 대단하다고 말하기가 좀 그렇다. 캘리포니아 남부에도 아주 맛나는 맥주를 많이 마셔봐서 그런가? 그래도 음식은 맛있었다. 라이브 음악도 좋았고.
TINROOF, Had some food before flying into Honolulu. It was takeout only so had to find a parking near beach. Cool shade and enjoying the food. Mostly good except the hot noddle soup.
ULULANI’S Hawaiian Shave Ice, Sweat ice-cream is always good. Were told this as a must visit.
Maui Ocean Center, Kids planed to visit here before the vacation, so we went ahead. Kids took so many pictures with so many beautiful/amazing fishes and other livings.
