January 2002 – our first room, not house ?

A couple, AK & TK, landed at Toronto Pearson Airport, Jan 04, 2002 after married in Korea and found this small rental room near Dupont and Spadina downtown Toronto. It’s just amazing twenty years how fast the time went by when I look back from 2022 now. We were young, maybe reckless, and not knowing much about the new country. Also, no idea what’s waiting for us in the near future. However, we both were excited about unknown unknown, which is eventually going to be found one step after another everyday.

김은진, 공종홍 커플. 우리는 한국에서 결혼을 한 후 2002년 1월4일에 토론토 피어슨에 창륙을 하였다. 그리고 토론토 다운타운 듀폰/스파다이나 근처에 이 조그마한 렌트룸을 찾을 수 있었다. 지금 시점인 2022년에 지난 20년을 보면 정말 파란만장한 시간이었다. 우리는 젋었었고 이 나라에 대해서 별로 아는것도 없었다. 물론 어떤일이 우리에게 다가올 지는 더더욱 몰랐었다. 하지만 어차피 일어나게 될 한걸음 한걸음일것이라는 것을 믿고 있었던것 같다.
